Been a long time since I did any painting, it feels good to get back to it.
This is Artyr Zahn, Space Captain.
I'm planning on maybe writing a series of short stories featuring him and his crew and the wild adventures they have
As always comments of all shapes and sizes are welcomed and very much appreciated! I'd be particularly interested in hearing about what you think of his character, just from the image itself...
Hey! I wondered when I would see another painting from you. Nice job!
I would take a guess at Artyr's character just from the image, but knowing your other writings... I'll probably be off the mark by a lot.
He looks determined and the kind of guy that won't leave a man behind. Kinda like a Capt. James Kirk and Capt. Mal Reynolds mix, if ya know what I mean.
I love his hair/eyebrows. He looks solid, but with potential danger lurking inside

Let's see... Serious eyes, mouth almost set in stone, I would say this guy means business, yet would rather use his head than his fists. Maybe had it rough while growing up?
Hi Samjo! Nice work! I really like the textures! About the character..hmm.... His mouth is strong and gives a determined look but his eyes seem a bit timid and maybe a little sad. He also looks really young. Maybe that's just my view. I don't mean to criticize cause I think you did a great job. The colors and execution are great! What kind of character do you want to develop him as?
He looks like he's a bit tired of all the adventures he's had recently. And yet he seems tough enough to eat about a hundred baddies for breakfast. I can't wait to read the stories.
Well I can tell you this much -- he won't go hungry! I'm going to try and get a few more characters together, and I've got some ideas for the stories as well

Hey, thanks! I didn't intend him to be sad, more sort of detached, cold, that sort of thing. He is young, but he's been through a lot. He's a no-nonsense sort of guy!
Glad you like it!

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

What do you do with a B.A. in English, anyway?
he looks like a man that's seen too much to me.

You have four nostrils, just to let you know.
